Here are some good things.

A spinalong, a giveaway, some things to uplift your spirits.

So how’s it going, fiber rebels? Hanging in there, I hope? Staying safe and with the most immaculately clean hands? Let me commiserate with you for a moment about the toll that all this hand-washing is taking on our poor spinning/knitting/crocheting/weaving hands. It is the pits. However, I have some solutions for that, plus any doldrums you might be experiencing right now!

First up: I’m hosting a virtual spinalong next Saturday – that’s April 11th, 2020 at noon EDT. It’s being hosted in my private room on ZOOM, so I’ll need you to sign up for it in order to get the password. The mailing list will be used to let you know about upcoming live and recorded appearances from me, though there’s an option to subscribe to the regular mailing list as well, if you like.

Here’s the AWESOME thing about this event – there are giveaways. GIVEAWAYS!

Thanks to a very kind anonymous donor, I have several opportunities for attendees to win the prize of a fiber battlet set of their choice – either one from my shop or one of my choice carded specifically for them. FUN.
Thank you so much, my kind anonymous donor!

I’ve also got some Facebook Live events scheduled for this week:
On Wednesday, April 8th, join me at 2p EDT while I talk about blending shorter fibers with longer ones, using hand cards.
On Thursday April 9th, join me at 2p EDT when I’ll be demoing creating tiny tapestries, featuring looms and hand dyed yarn from Neighborhood Fiber Co.

You can join me via my Facebook page at any time during these, or view the video afterwards at https://www.facebook.com/threeravens.net/

Here’s a couple of things to make you smile.

USPS reveals stamp set for Ruth Asawa. The nondenominated (55¢) forever commemoratives picture 10 views of her elaborately detailed designs, carefully handwoven into abstract organic shapes using materials including brass wire and steel wire. Her creations often have been likened to nests or woven baskets.

#The100DayProject is a free art project that takes place online. Every spring, thousands of people all around the world commit to 100 days of exploring their creativity.

Anyone can join (yes, that means you!). The idea is simple: choose a project, do it every day for 100 days, and share your process on Instagram with the hashtag #The100DayProject.

So that’s my little update, filled with good things. What about you? What good things have been keeping you going lately? Please do hit reply and share. Your joys bring me joy.

I hope to see you at one of the live events! Take care, friends.
