Celebration: Neighborhood Fiber Co 10th Anniversary Party and Demos

NFC anniversary collage

Saturday was a fantastic day! Despite the 98 degree heat in Baltimore, it was cool and fiberlicious in the Neighborhood Fiber Co studio – and if the great company, informative demos, and beautiful yarns and fibers weren’t enough, there were also limited edition speckle-dyed yarns with popsicles that matched, courtesy of KarmaPop!

The demos went on all day and were all so informative! These were tastes of the upcoming classes that will be happening this year at NFC, and there are some GREAT ones. Featured were: making soy candles with Knits, Soy & Metal, tapestry weaving with Astrid Albert, my drop spindling demo, and an intro to upcycling and steeking with Ann Weaver. They were really informative and made me want to rush right out and sign up for ALL the classes offered.

There were so many great folks there shopping, both old friends and some new ones. And I had a lot of great questions about drop spindling and all the associated tasks with it. I love good questions!

HUGE thanks to Karida and company for inviting us to help them celebrate their 10th anniversary. It’s a very big thing indeed to make it ten years in this, or any small business. Karida truly does create community with her business, and I feel honored to be a part of that community. You can see the neighborhood in action right in her studio’s lounge area, where people mingle and exchange ideas and creativity freely. That’s something that the world needs more of, y’all.
