“Like the heat from a thousand suns that burns on
Rising ever higher
A phoenix from a pyre
My eternal desire” – The Cult
The colors of the blazing sun – hot red, orange, yellow – and spun in a thick/thin style from the lock, while the wool was still sticky with lanolin… this yarn is a showstopper.
This is not a yarn for close-to-skin softness, but for texture and color. Spun from “sticky locks” – i.e. locks of wool with lanolin still in them – the yarn is lumpy, bumpy, magnificent. It’s perfect for textural additions to a piece of outerwear or a bag, or especially nice used in weaving or other textile arts where the texture can sing.
There’s approximately 42 yards/38.4 meters – I measure generously.
This yarn is a single ply yarn, 6 -7 WPI, weight is 1.5 ounces/42.52 grams.
Yarn care: Please hand wash in cool water and dry flat.
Questions? Please do convo me!
I have this yarn currently in a skein – if you would like it wound into a ball, I would be happy to do so at no charge. Just let me know!
Colours will vary from monitor to monitor – I took several photos to show some variance in colour and lighting.
