I have a photo of my mom, taken in Alaska. She’s standing on top of a glacier, and there are two things that have always struck me about that photo – how thrilled she looks to be there… and the amazing color of the ice in the ice surrounding and below her. I’ve never seen ice that blue!
When I pulled the BFL wool and Firestar from my dye pot and saw the icy shade I’d achieved, I went back immediately to that photo, and I knew exactly what the name of this yarn would be. The blues travel from shocks of dark blue-purple through aquamarine to the palest hint of ice. I spun the yarn holding the BFL and the Firestar at the same time, so the sparkle shoots all through the plies. The BFL is springy and soft, and the two-ply yarn will hold much stitch definition!
There’s approximately 142 yards/129.8 meters – I measure generously.
This yarn is a two ply yarn, 12 WPI, weight of 3.7 ounces/104.9 grams.
Yarn care: Please hand wash in cool water and dry flat.
Questions? Please do convo me!
I have this yarn currently in a skein – if you would like it wound into a ball, I would be happy to do so at no charge. Just let me know!
Colours will vary from monitor to monitor – I took several photos to show some variance in colour and lighting.
