Xiane Loves: October’s Favorite Things

Hello, my friends! It’s time for October’s roundup of things I love from my travels on the Internet! I actually started putting this one together earlier this month and then got sidetracked by a lot of prep work for the Holiday shows coming up, and some classes that I taught… so this hopefully won’t feel too disjointed! I am sure that you know that Autumn is my favorite time of year, so I’ve been trying to enjoy the perfectly beautiful days that 2017 has been offering up around here. A lot of walking, leaf-observing, hot-drink-having, and sweater wearing – YAY!
How do you celebrate Autumn?

Here’s some links to inspire, conspire, and admire! Whee!

I am STUNNED by the transformation that Stephanie has brought to these sneaks. Definitely go over to her Insta and check out the whole progression from plain to amazing!

I love Tara Swiger. [you might have noticed that I link to her work a LOT.] She has tons of great info that she hands out like candy, plus she runs the great small business coaching community, The Starship. Her podcasts are so great – authentic, informative, and fun to listen to! So how great it is that this podcast is all about using podcasts to promote your business? Obviously if anyone knows this topic, it’s Tara. Definitely tune into this one!

Another recommendation for the creative business owners who read this – I have been using Lisa Jacobs’ Your Best Year Productivity Workbook and Online Business Planner for YEARS now. [FIVE years!]  A new version comes out every year and every year I get my copy, because it is seriously that good. In her words:

I wrote the book with lofty goals in mind. I want you to find and embrace unlimited potential. I want you to accomplish whatever it is you set out to do for the betterment of your life and business. I want you to obliterate time-wasting inefficiencies, mindless busywork, and bad habits.

It’s available as a download or a paper copy, and totally worth every dollar – just take a look on the page I’ve linked and you’ll see ALL the value you get. It is the only tool I’ve faithfully purchased every year since inception, and I’ll be going through it and blogging about it if you want to join in, too. [ #yourbestyear2018 will be my hashtag!]

Click to find out all about it, and if you get one, let me know so we can partner up!

I have a couple of shows coming up in November! If you are local or in the area, I’d LOVE to see you at one of these…

A market to benefit a local cause and promote small businesses & artists. Occurs monthly, on the first Saturday of every month. 55 local vendors, ranging from hand-made clothing & jewelry, to fine art and ceramics!
Grab some lunch at R. House and swing into the garage for a day of great local shopping. Each market features a rotating charitable cause. A portion of each booth fee is donated to them, and they receive a free booth at the market to chat with you about their work!

The holidays are fast approaching. For now, I’ve been concentrating mostly on my hand made products and on my Artist In Residence work. Starting in 2018, I will be turning my concentration more steadily to Bound By A Thread, teaching, and coaching work. Want to learn more? Drop me an email and let me know! [by the way, did you see the latest work in Bound By A Thread? It’s all about Protection and Boundaries, take a look here!]

Have something you’d like to see me talk about in these roundups? Something I should explore in detail? LET ME KNOW! I can’t do this without you!  <3

Thanks for reading, and I hope your Hallowe’en is safe and fun – see you in November!
