One of the BEST things about this job is that we get to go to craft shows and yarn/fiber festivals and peddle our wares… which really translates to “talk about what we do and how we love it” and “oh look at how much we learned AND I got to teach some people how to spin AND we sold some stuff too!”
Homespun Yarn Party is one of our favorite shows. This was our second year, and it was just as busy, exciting, fun, and fabulous as last year! Just one thing was different. We brought along something new.
As you can see, we debuted something new in the “BA” line – we now have size 100s and 150s, in several lengths. The biggest 150s were an object of awe and maybe a little fear. They also were featured in MANY photo ops on Sunday, so I’m just waiting to see ALL the hilarious shots. Here’s a few, thanks to Lindsay Hendricks and featuring her, Laura Day, and myself and Rob trying not to fall over laughing.
We actually *did* have other items besides OMG hooks and Big Ass knitting needles – hand made spindles, handspun wearables, fiber batts, a big selection of dyed Falkland and BFK top braids, and of course some handspun yarn.
We were super lucky to have help this weekend, too! My friend and fellow fiberista Kristin Moran of DreamSpun Fiber Arts was kind enough to volunteer her services for the day, and was incredibly helpful in so many ways. Oh, and she even managed to get second place in the Spin the Longest Thread spinning contest! How’s that for multi-tasking?
We did very well at the show, selling some BIG tools, a bunch of spindles, lots of fiber, and even some of my current favorite yarns and wearables. I love seeing our work go to new homes, where people can take it and be inspired, feel festive, or create beauty with it. So fulfilling.
THANK YOU SO MUCH to the shoppers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and organizers of Homespun Yarn Party! You made us feel loved. <3
