2-21: Community Thursday!

Let today be the day you stop being haunted by the ghost of yesterday. Holding a grudge & harboring anger/resentment is poison to the soul. Get even with people…but not those who have hurt us, forget them, instead get even with those who have helped us. – Steve Maraboli

We need some good things this week. That’s what I think, anyway. So let’s look at good things, fun things, things that make us giggle or spark with curiosity or creativity. Welcome to Community Thursday!

Sometimes, you just need some glittery play-clay. Make this home made play dough and make your own galaxies just for fun.

College Girl Taking On The World is a tumblr with lots of great ideas for prettifying one’s world in simple ways. I’d like to make this with some of my textured yarn.

Another one I’d like to try with yarn instead of magazines. OR maybe some of my spun paper yarn!

A free popsicle amigurumi pattern from Jennygurumi! This is simple and adorable. She released it for Valentine’s Day, but I would make this anytime someone needs cheering up.

Maegan Burkart of Little Patch Alpacas has posted a really helpful and well-done instructional video on adding locks into singles as you spin. The shots are very clear and the explanations easy to understand. This is her first video; I think she did an amazing job!

And last but not least, there’s this amazing bookstore down the street from Lovelyarns/Threeravens. It’s called Atomic Books, and they carry ‘zines and hard-to-find books on every interesting topic and toys and other interesting things. [there's even a honest-to-goodness record store in the back, Celebrated Summer Records, which is one of my favorite places to drop cash that I can't afford]
Like me, the folks at Atomic Books love Baltimore. They kindly made a collection of quintessential “Baltimore” links for people visiting Baltimore – ahem, you could come see me – or people who want to explore the city a bit more.
Go take a look, and then explore the Atomic Books website some, too. And if you come to town, I’d gladly take you to these places, plus more.

My friends, may all who care for you also care for what means the most to you.
I am a curator for all that I love, because I want to share that love. I see your hearts in the things that you create and do, and I want to share the beauty that I see there. Thank you for sharing it with me, with the world around you.
