A Busy Week: Behind The Scenes

What a week, a crazy week.

Things that happened are GOOD… for the most part… and I’m going to tell you ALL about them. This is my weekly Behind The Scenes report!
[to the left, some of the many colorways I dyed this week, with some artsy effects. I’ll show you them a little more au natural further down]

In case you missed the announcement, Threearavens Fiber Studio will be stocking some choice handmade fiber items from talented artisans. This week, we got our first shipment, from Free Range Fingers out of Maiden NC. Adorable amigurumi, cute crocheted hats, fashionable buntings, and other really wonderful items will be some of the first things offered in the Studio. I will have individual pics up sometime this week, if the weather plays along and lets me take some great photos.

And for those who might create items that they think Threeravens should be carrying…

What are we looking for? Handmade items for fiberistas, like tools [spindles, combs, etc], fiber for spinning or felting… buttons, stitch markers, spindle bags… yarn and spindle bowls… if it’s handmade and fiber related, contact me. I am *not* accepting yarn – but only because the WONDERFUL Loveyarns is right below me and specializes in local handspun and hand dyed yarns. I am looking to be a complement to the shop, not competition, so Lovelyarns will remain the only shop in Baltimore City to carry Threeravens Yarns, and I won’t be carrying anyone else’s yarn. However, if you have fiber, I want to hear from you. 😉

So what was the bad part of the week? Well, just the very end, where my beloved Jeeple decided that it would be a good idea to stop working in the middle of a very busy road. [hint: this is a good time to buy things from my shop]
But honestly, this week has been fantastic. LOTS of dyeing, getting ready to start the expansion, and getting ready for the SNOWBALL* at Madison Wool in CT.
*[the info about the Snowball is about halfway down through the newsletter.]

If you’ll be in CT On February 2nd, you should definitely consider signing up for the Snowball! You know all that 70s stuff I’ve been dyeing? YEAH. That. There’s SEVEN HOURS of disco music, with spinning. And costumes. Really. AND it’s almost full. You know what to do.

And that’s my week! I’m looking forward to putting a photo of a happy Jeeple in the next post, as well as maybe some funky pants that I’m making for the Snowball. I hope your week is full of creative adventures!
