Despite *incredibly* bad weather all night before Crafty Feast happened last Saturday, I decided that I just had to show up and make an attempt to have a good show.
And I did! I really did!

I learned a few things, like that I need a better system to protect Genevieve the Spinning Wheel, and although walls on your canopy protect from rain, they suck in high winds. Not that much would have conquered those winds, oh WOW. The end of the show saw me finally collapsing my canopy and setting my yarn across my table in my spot – and that was okay, because the show was, despite Mother Nature’s attempts to the contrary, a fantastic success.

One of the delights of the day was sharing my tent with a nice gentleman and his companions while we all waited out a heavy shower. We talked fiber arts and about the area and lots of other things, and before the end of the day, he returned to buy a lockspun Romney yarn from me. And when I arrived home, he sent me a pic:

Yes, he totally made that in one afternoon! And I love the way it looks – what a great end to my day!

Of course, you’re probably wondering why it’s taken me a full week to report back in after the show… truth is, I get so into what I’m doing before a show, I’m generally no good for the week after – yep, a big ol’ lazy mess! I’ve still got post-show inventory to do, y’all. How sad is that?
And considering that I have Green Goats and Gardens coming up this Saturday [April 30th]… I guess I’d better get my rump in gear. If you’re in the Charlotte area, I’d love to see you there – I’ll post a full update about that show separately, so keep your eyes on this blog!

* Just wanted to add a quick note – The Crafty Feast organizers & staff – AWESOME. That’s a show I’d love to do again. If you didn’t get a chance to check it out, do so next time by ALL means.
